About the Workshop

The Horn Society of the Carolinas held it's inaugural Student Horn Workshop in January of 2014. This year it will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2019.

The workshop will be held at Church at Charlotte, 2500 Carmel Road, Charlotte, NC 28226.

The workshop will be structured for grades 7-12 French Horn students to increase their knowledge, improve their performance skills, and provide them an opportunity to play in small and large horn ensembles. Selected students will be provided an opportunity to play in a master class demonstrating their audition-ready skills.

At the end of the day there will be a mass choir concert for all students and assisted by members of the Horn Society of the Carolinas.
Concert will be at 4:00 pm and free to the public.

Online enrollment will be available through our website starting January 1 at a charge of $30 per student. This fee will include a lunch, a T-shirt and a horn maintenance kit. Need-based financial assistance will be available for a limited number of students. Directors and teachers are welcome to attend the workshop without charge (directors and teachers still need to register to account for lunch)

No similar experience has been presented in the Charlotte area. Don't miss out on this enriching experience, to meet other area horn players and teachers and to be part of "The Greatest Sound on Earth!".
